The release of the Evasi0n jailbreak tool was fantastic. It meant the long wait was finally over for all people waiting for a jailbreak on the latest iOS 6 firmware, no matter which device you wanted it on. Then there was a bit of cat and mouse between Apple and the jailbreak developers. As Apple would bring out an update to patch the jailbreak, the jailbreak team where updating their software to counter. Until iOS 6.1.3 that is.

The release of iOS 6.1.3 would be the end of Evasi0n. At least until iOS 7 would be due to come out as the developers spoke of not wasting their time with the small jailbreak update. Instead, they would set their sights ahead and start preparing for the iOS 7 jailbreak which will be due to come out around the middle of this year. This news saddened many who had already updated to the iOS 6.1.3 firmware assuming there would be an Evasion jailbreak ready just around the corner. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be.

Thanks to Sn0wbreeze — as it has been the case for many of the latest jailbreaks — there is now no need to worry, or for that matter, wait for the iOS 7 jailbreak. Sn0wbreeze have released an update to Sn0wbreeze 2.9.14 which will indeed jailbreak the iOS 6.1.3 firmware. There is one condition, however, as so often is the case. This jailbreak is only for pre A4 devices. Meaning, you will need an iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS or iPod Touch 4G to use this jailbreak. That does narrow down the list of users considerably, and it is important to note that it does not include the iPhone 4s. That manages to catch many people out, but pre A4 means iPhone 4 and below, not the iPhone 4S as I previously mentioned.

Before we get started on the guide for the iOS 6.1.3 untethered jailbreak, if you are using an earlier iOS 6 firmware version you will need a different guide. Try using the Sn0wbreeze 2.9.11 which you can either download or follow the how to jailbreak with Sn0wbreeze 2.9.11 guide. If it is Evasi0n you want, you can most certainly use that also.Evasion iOS 6.1.2 jailbreak guide is here for you. If you are running iOS 6.1, there are guides for that too, just check out our jailbreak section for the right guide and associated downloads.
