One of the most advanced rooting methods of its time, CF-Auto-Root offered a simple one-click rooting method that would all by itself install a custom recovery, so it could then install SuperSU to get rooting privileges, and then re-flash the stock recovery again, leaving your device as it was before you started, only with the added benefit of root access.

Samsung smartphones have been awesome for many years because of CF-Auto-Root. What Chainfire managed to develop was the best thing ever. I never felt confident getting root using any other method but never hesitated with CF-Auto-Root. So I would say CF-Auto-Root is not only a safe tool but a reliable one as well. It just sucks it is no longer being developed. Whoever the new owner is doesn’t seem to be doing anything at all. I have never seen any new devices being added. And none of the new versions of Android and being rooted with it due to it using SuperSU for the root access.

CF-Auto-Root was sold to a company called Coding Code Mobile Technology LLC. I’m not sure how much the sale price was, but I have a feeling Chainfire walked away pretty happy. Presumably Coding Code Mobile Technology LLC thought they would still be developing the tool but for some reason haven’t been. We have added these links just in case the company takes them down someday. It would be a shame not to have a backup.
