If you are a budding photographer or just love taking photos, you ought to look out for a new notification from the “update center” for the Sony Album application. The new version moves the build number to 6.6.A.0.6 from 6.5.A.0.10 and it comes with several notable changes that you are going to love. You can download the APK file here.
According to the official changelog, Sony are claiming this installment to come with only bug fixes and performance enhancements. However, we notice numerous other UI and feature tweaks that we feel definitely deserved a shout out in the changelog, knowing that users will find them useful.
The first change comes with the “details” section where you’ll now find ISO value, Exposure time and shutter speed information. If you’ve ever sat in a classroom for a few photography lessons, you’ll know how important that information is to smartphone owners. The next difference is the folder menu now shows a picture of where the photos are kept. The earlier version didn’t come with any picture. The only data available was the numerical value and list name.
Although Sony are saying this edition comes with bug fixes, it’s possible that new installments also come with more bugs that the Japanese phone-maker is having to patch once more in another update. We’ve noticed a few comments hinting that the older version runs smother than the new version. What does that mean? If you don’t have any interest in the new features and you don’t have any bugs in your 6.5.A.0.10 that you are recognizing, you may prefer holding off on this new Album update. If you love the sound of checking out the new features we say go for it. The new bugs are surly only minor.
As usual, we love hearing your take on the upgrade. Do you like what you are finding? Let us know in the comments any opinion you have with the Album application.
