Files You Need

  • Download the Towelroot app from the website from here: http://towelroot.com.
  • You must have a working internet connection to follow this guide.
  • These are the steps to root HTC Desire 610 smartphones without a PC and running Android 4.4.2 KitKat Android operating systems. You can check your software by pointing to the Menu > Settings > About Device. You’ll need to downgrade the Android OS if you want to root it using the Towelroot one-click rooting application.

Rooting the HTC Desire 610 running Android 4.4.2 KitKat

1. Turn on the Unknown Sources option from the settings for your HTC Desire 610 device by navigating to the Menu > Settings > Security > Unknown Sources.

2. Open any web browser application from your HTC Desire 610 smartphone and enter the Towelroot URL web address so that homepage loads.

3. Tap over the Lambda symbol and the app will download on your device.

4. Save the tr.apk file to your Desire 610 device.

5. Swipe down the notification shade and tap the download complete notification.

6. Tap on the Install option.

7. Swipe down the notification shade and tap on Installation Complete notification.

8. The Towelroot application should now open on your device and you can tap the Make it Ra1n button.

9. Open the Google Play Store after your device is rooted and download the SuperSU app by Chainfire. Open the SuperSU application and agree to update any SU binary if needed.

Open the Google Play Store again and download the root checker app. Open the root checker app on your Desire 610 device and confirm that it is rooted. You can agree to update the Superuser if the app requests you do that.
