The HTC One M8 originally came out with stunning Gunmetal Gray and Glacial Silver, but as the Taiwanese manufacturer of smartphones and tablets started selling them by the hundreds of thousands they became less appealing to those who enjoy being original. There are people out there who get turned off by having the same colored device that millions of other people have and they want to step out of the shadows and pull out something unique from their pockets. Well, the clever and kind folks over at HTC headquarters have come out with some additional color choices that should satisfy many people. The two new color options are pink and red.

The HTC brand name is no stranger to the color red, but pink is unusual and we don’t normally see it. I know one girl who loves pink, but even this won’t appeal to her because she isn’t hunting for a new phone. Not only does pink mainly appeal to women, but it also is subject to only those looks for a new handset. In addition, the M8 isn’t really new anymore after being announced on the 25th of March and released on the same day. It is making the demographics, even finer.

In addition, the screen technology is IPS LCD, it has a multi-touch touchscreen and comes with a light sensor and proximity sensor. The camera is 4 ultrapixels with Dual LED, flash, BSI, autofocus, ISO control white balance and more. The hardware provides a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 system chip, Quad core, 2300 MHz, Krait 400 processor, Adreno 330 graphics processor, 2048 MB RAM system memory, 32 GB internal memory and a slot for MicroSD, microSDHC, microSDXC storage expansion.

The battery lasts for 20 hours talk-time and 20 days standby time coupled with a 2600 mAh battery capacity. However, the downside is that the battery is not user-replaceable.

To sum up, if you want a new smartphone (that isn’t really new) with a big display, extremely high pixel density, high-resolution display, lots of RAM, a quad-core processor, 4G fast mobile data support and NFC this is worth a look if you like red or pink.

The glamour red is available in the US from Verizon and O2 are selling it in the United Kingdom. O2 are taking pre-orders starting the 5th of August and selling in stores from the 7th of August. Carphone Warehouse is taking pre-orders starting today and selling in stores on the 7th of August for the pink option.
