Getting root access on a device usually refers to getting the SuperSU or Superuser application on a device. That app then confirms or denies apps that want to use root access when requested. That’s different from Android usual security where if an app requests the root permission, the Android security would just say no you cannot install that app.

The new one-click rooting tool called KingRoot works in a similar way but the SuperSU or replaced with the KingUser app. Once you install the app, you’ll see the KingUser I am talking about in your app drawer. It’s also the same app you want to access to unroot the device. We touch more on that later.

The Files You Need

  1. Download the KingRoot app from its official home on the XDA Developers webpage here.
  2. That one APK file is the only file you need to complete this guide. However, once you install that PK on your device during the guide below, you will receive three new apps available from your devices app drawer. The app appropriately named KingRoot is the one you are using during the guide. The other two — the KingUser and the KingMaster — are also important if you ever need them. The KingUser is the app to enter should you ever want to unroot the device and the KingMaster helps increase the performance of your device.
  3. You can verify your device is on the list of ZTE supported devices.
