One of the best rooted apps available for the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 LTE device is the Triangle Away application. Once you install custom firmware on your Grand 2 to update it to newer versions of Android, you get an annoying yellow warning triangle during the boot process.
It’s enough to make the people around you wonder what is going on with your device. If you don’t like to in the spotlight for negative reasons, you might prefer installing the Triangle Away application. Once you install the Triangle Away app, you get rid of the yellow triangle and nobody can tell you are using a rooted device with custom firmware.
Files You Need
- Download the rooting package from this page.
- Download the universal ADB driver from this page.
- Download the latest Odin flashing tool from this page if the Odin found in your rooting bundle doesn’t work.
- These steps to root are for the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 LTE device with model number SM-G710L only. Do not flash this file on a different model number or you can brick that device.
- You can only follow this guide using a Windows computer. It works for any Windows notebook, laptop or desktop. It does not work for the Windows Surface tablets running Windows RT for the operating system. You cannot download files to your computer using the Windows RT.
Rooting the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 LTE (SM-G710L)
- Download the rooting bundle to your computer.
- By default, this ends up in your downloads folder on a Windows PC.
- Transfer the bundle over to the desktop of the computer.
- Right-click the mouse over the file and choose the option for extracting it here.
- Now double-click the Odin executable file. You should see the Odin flashing tool now running on your computer.
- Reboot the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 device to download mode by holding the Home + Power + Volume Down keys starting with it off first.
- Press the Volume Up option when it says on the display.
- Connect the device to the computer once you have the handset in download mode.
- Wait until you see the ID: COM port change colors. That means your USB drivers is working.
- Those without a color change must install the ADB driver or the Samsung driver. Those with color and finding the guide not working after this step should download a new version of Odin from our Odin downloads page.
- Click the PDA button if you are using an older version of Odin or the AP button if you are using a newer version.
- Browse the desktop of the rooting package (CF-Root).
- Click the Start button and wait for the Odin flashing tool to complete the flashing process of that root file.
- Soon the Odin tool will give you the pass message from the message box on the Odin user-interface. Also, your device will reboot.
Once rebooted, head over to the Google Play Store on your Galaxy Grand and download the root checker application.
