Files You Need

  1. Download the custom kernel you need for your Core Prime from this page.
  2. Download the latest Odin 3.10 from this page. try using one of the older versions of the Odin flash tool on your Core prime Duo smartphone if you cannot get the rooting file to flash properly.
  3. Download the Vroot you need from this page.
  4. Download the universal ADB Driver from this page directly to the computer.
  5. You must have a computer running Windows for this guide to work on your smartphone. You cannot flash the files unless you are running Windows.

Rooting the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime Duos SM-G360H/DS

  1. Turn on the USB Debugging Mode on your Core Prime by tapping on the Menu > Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging Mode.
  2. Download all the above files and have them on the desktop of the computer.
  3. Right-click over the files and extract them all to the desktop location.
  4. Double-click and run the Odin flash tool on your computer so the Odin computer application opens on your desktop.
  5. Turn off the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime Duos and reboot it up so that it is in download mode. You can get your device in download mode by holding the Volume Down + Home + Power. Wait until it says to press the Volume Up button and do that to get the Core prime in the download mode.
  6. Connect the Core Prime to the Windows computer using the USB cable you have for charging the battery.

  11. You know it’s done when you get a “pass” message on the Odin app display and your device reboots. Reboot the Core Prime manually if it does not reboot by itself.
  12. Finish by running the Vroot tool on the desktop and follow its instructions to finish rooting the device.
