Files You Need
1. Download and install Samsung USB Drivers on your computer, if you haven’t done so yet.
2. Download Odin to your computer. You’ll use it to flash CF-Root on your device.
3. Download CF-Root for your specific variant of the device from the following list:
- SM-A500F
- SM-A500G
- SM-A500H
- SM-A500M
- SM-A5000
Rooting the Samsung Galaxy A5 (All Variants)
1. Extract files from both Odin and CF-Root archives. To do that, right-click on each of them and select Extract here. It’ll extract the files to your computer.
2. Launch Odin by double-clicking on its executable file.
3. When it launches, click on PDA and choose CF-Root available on your computer.
4. Uncheck Repartition if it’s checkmarked by default. It must NOT be checked-on or it’ll cause issues.
5. Feel free to checkmark both Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options.
6. Turn off your device.
7. Reboot your device into download mode. To do that, hold down Volume DOWN+Home+Power buttons at the same time.
8. Hit Volume UP and you should be in download mode.
9. Plug in your phone to your computer using a USB cable.
10. Click on Start in the Odin and let it flash CF-Root on your device.
11. When flashing is done, your phone should automatically reboot.
12. You’re done.
