Files You Need

  2. Download the Galaxy A4 CF-Root package for your device from this page.
  3. Download the Odin flashing tool from this page. Download one version and if the guide doesn’t work you can download a different version. Sometimes it takes a few different versions to get your device rooted.
  4. Download the Samsung USB Drivers for mobile phones on your computer.
  5. These are the steps to root the Samsung Galaxy S3 4G Duos smartphone running Android 4.4.4 KitKat. You should downgrade to Android 4.4.4 KitKat if you want to follow this guide without bricking your device. If you don’t downgrade your device, we cannot be sure the exploit is not patched in future updates.
  6. You must have a Windows PC to follow this guide.

Rooting the Samsung Galaxy A3 4G Duos

  1. Download the rooting package to your Windows computer. It will end up in the Downloads folder by default unless you have changed the default download location.
  2. Open the Downloads folder and find the file. Now click and drag the file over to the desktop of the computer.
  3. Right-click over the file and choose the “extract here” option.
  4. Do the same thing with the Odin package so it’s extracted on the desktop.
  5. Run the Samsung USB Drivers on your computer so they are installed.
  6. Double-click the executable Odin file that’s on your desktop and wait for the Odin user-interface to open.
  7. Turn off the Samsung Galaxy A3 device and reboot it in download mode.
    – reboot by holding the Volume Down + Home + Power to get the device in download mode.
  8. Connect the Samsung Galaxy A3 device to the computer using the USB cable.
  9. Wait for the ID: COM port to change colors so you know your drivers are working. If the color changes in the ID: COM port, you should try a different Odin version if it doesn’t flash the rooting exploit to your device.
  10. Click the AP or the PDA button and browse the desktop for your CF-Root executable file.
  11. Click the Start button available from the Odin user-interface and the Odin flashing tool will now flash your device with that same root exploit.
  12. Wait for the pass message and for your device to reboot before unplugging from the computer.
