Roughly mid-June we showed you a leak involving the perfect gold’ Galaxy F that Sammy are producing according to reports coming out of Evleaks who we regard very highly as a legitimate source for leaks. The same website have had another leak handed to them in the construction of a new ‘glowing gold’ Galaxy suggesting that there could well be two separate gold versions coming to us.

It was only 13 moons ago that we saw the gold iPhone 6 first unveil at the Apple event and since then several other manufacturers took note of its success with shipping times and decided to release a gold version themselves. Of course, this is not genuine gold, but rather just a fake gold coloring that still proved very popular among users. If rumors are correct, this will mark the first time we have seen two gold variants in any companies line-ups including the favorite Cupertino company who started the trend.

Glowing Gold Galaxy F

The display shows the same background we saw on the original leak that I established a link through to look at earlier. It also shows us the same time on the display as 12:45 Wednesday, September the 12th and we are assuming that is a secret hint as to when it could be unveiled to us.

My head tells me that isn’t necessarily two different smartphones, and it could be the same handset under a different name. If you look at the original picture, it looks very dark gold with a brushed metal finish in the back casing. When comparing this to the new image that looks much lighter the first instinct is to say it’s two separate devices. Still, if we go back to the initial picture you can clearly see that the front of the case is much lighter when compared to the back. It could be a render at a different angle that is showing us the same color of the front. The only thing to suggest it isn’t is the top of the new picture doesn’t look quite as dark as the back. It is a rendering though and angles can do funny things to colors also depending on how the graphics designer wants to portray a look. I’m personally not convinced that it is a separate device but bug blogs such as Android Authority are.

Whatever the case the gold version will be the perfect way to represent a more “prime’ and premium model of the Galaxy S because people associate it with being the premium color.

To serve as a refresher, the Galaxy S ‘prime’ dubbed as the Galaxy F is coming with a golden finish in one way, or another, Android 4.4.3 Kitkat, and aluminium case. It has a physical display size of 5.3-inches (could split the two iPhone’s down the middle) 1440 x 2560 pixel’s screen resolution, 554 ppi pixel density, and the usual light sensor and proximity sensor.

The rear-facing camera is 16 megapixels, and it is coming with a 2 megapixel front facing shooter. There will be auto-focus, Optical Image Stabilization, Geo Tagging and face detection on board too.

The part everyone is waiting for is the hardware, and we think it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 APQ8084 system chip, Quad core, 2700 MHz, Krait 450 processor, and an Adreno 420 graphics processor. The system memory is 3072 MB RAM, and the storage space is 32 GB although roughly 7 GB of that is used up with the Android-based OS it comes with stock. We expect Sammy to look after people with the usual SD card options for extra memory.
