The Sony Xperia Z is now beginning to receive Android 4.3  Jelly Bean for T-Mobile subscribers. This update carries the build number of 10.4.C.0.814 and according to our friends it came to us originally as 10.4.C.0.808, but it didn’t roll out properly. The official new version namely 10.4.C.0.814 will pile out correctly, and some of you will have already noticed it arrive as a system notification.

If you are a little anxious and paranoid, you can check if it is ready for you by visiting Applications >Settings >About phone >Software update. After a tap on the phone’s display, it will check automatically for you if yours has come in yet. This process can take a number of weeks before it is finishing rolling out to everyone so be patient. Hopefully, you will at least know of somebody who has been lucky enough to get it already, that way you can take notes of what is inside. Otherwise, we’ll do out best efforts to describe everything we know in throughout details.

T-Mobile Xperia Z

Otherwise users can install this version by using Sony’s PC Companion. No matter what way you choose make sure you backup using the way you are familiar. You can choose to backup apps and more using helium from Google Play. The Xperia Z only came with 16 GB of internal storage space, and that leaves people with only 11 GB of space they can use after the Android OS takes up the other 5 before you even install anything yourself. If you need more space try creating a Google Drive account. Or, if you would prefer, you can buy the additional microSD, microSDHC, microSDXC storage expansion options of up to 32 GB. Also be wary of the battery not running out. It starts with 11 hours talk-time brand new, and it is now nearly a year and a half old. Therefore make sure you adjust accordingly and have adequate battery power before starting, so it doesn’t shut down during the procedure.

Before we do, however, lets take a step back in time and see how we got to where we are today. Many people thought that the Z1 waste he first smartphone in this series, but it is a different device. The Z1 is the successor to the Z, and we are now up to the Z2. Anyhow, the original Z came with Android 4.2.2 out of the box, and I consider it fairly unlucky to not have got better treatment. For a device that is older because Sony updated the newer handsets only 6 months apart, they have decided they won’t keep this one as fresh as many would like. A lot of devices are using KitKat now, and we are well into seeing the later stages of the chocolate firmware builds as we gear up and get ready for an entirely new edition of the software under a different name releasing soon.

As for this update, it didn’t come with an official changelog either so we can only go on what we know. Luckily for you we know a lot about 4.3 after living through many device updates in the past and although there will be small updates individually tailored for your machine, it will. Be mostly the same as the others. Here is my list of favorite things included in 4.3 Jelly Bean that you want to know abut.

For once it is now Bluetooth Smart ready. That means users have access t a wide range of extra features including heart rate monitor, thermometer and pedometers. All of this happens without using up too much battery which is always the main concern of running Bluetooth. It also comes with restricted profiles, Dial-pad autocomplete, OpenGL ES 3.0, notification access, project butter, Bluetooth AVRCP and the setup wizard is easier. It also has new keyboard and input, Hindi support and all new camera UI.
