Files You Need
1. This should install the widely popular CWM Recovery on your device.
2. You must have a Windows based PC to do this procedure.
3. Download and install the Lenovo USB Drivers on your computer, if you haven’t done so yet.
4. Download Flash Tool to your computer. You’ll use it to install the custom recovery on your device.
5. Download CWM Recovery to your computer. It is the recovery that’ll be installed on your device.
Installing a Custom Recovery on the Lenovo A7000
1. Extract files from Flash Tool and CWM Recovery archives to your computer by right-clicking on each of them and selecting Extract here.
2. Double-click on Flash Tool executable to launch it.
3. When Flash Tool launches, click on Scatter-loading button and select the scatter file to be loaded into the tool.
4. Select Options followed by Download.
5. Ensure that the only option given on that screen is tick-marked.
6. Choose Download only from the dropdown menu and then hit the big Download button.
7. On the screen that follows, you’ll see a number of files that will be installed on your device. Make sure to only checkmark the one that says recovery as that is what you want to install on your device and nothing else.
8. Click on it to select the CWM Recovery image that you have downloaded on your computer.
9. Turn off your device.
10. Pull the battery out of your device.
11. Hit the Download button in the tool and plug in your device to your PC using a USB cable. While doing so, make sure you haven’t put in your battery back into the device.
12. Wait for the tool to install the recovery on your device.
13. When the recovery is installed, you’ll see a success message on your screen.
14. You’re all set.
