Despite the fact the clock is ticking over to November in a handful of countries, we are still seeing Android 4.4.2 KitKat updates coming for countless of the Samsung smartphones and tablets. If you are living in the Ukraine, neighboring Russia, United Arab Emirates or South Africa, you will start observing a notification coming in over the air alerting you of a new software update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The latest build number is  XXUENH1 firmware and it comes Google security patches, bug fixes and minor tweaks to the OS. It is not the same update we recently saw rolling to other Sammy handsets that bought international WiFi calling with it.

The Note 3 was a colossal success back over in the United States and was picked up by Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T and US cellular. Nevertheless, it doesn’t matter which phone carrier network you are subscribed to in the aforementioned regions since it is coming for all carriers within those countries. Additionally, it’s possible the same build number upgrade is coming to supplementary countries across Europe, Africa and the middle East. Nothing is confirmed at this point until we start seeing reports of that being the case.

Note 3

We know you are on Android 4.4.2 already, but that doesn’t signify that we cannot see additional incremental updates rolling out on that same number with a modified build number attached like we have here in the XXUENH1 build. Therefore, you should not treat this as a typo. Furthermore, they notification comes in OTA at different stages for each owners so no two people will have the chance to update at the same second. That means since you cannot see it ready for you doesn’t mean it isn’t coming so stay patient. You can always navigate to the Settings > About Phone > Software Update and Check For Updates that way manually.

Moreover, we hope to have the complete how-to guide for a complete manual installation if you want to use the file manually through Odin and bypass the waiting stages. It also doubles as a handy way for those with root access to update the OS since they do not receive any OTA signals until the revert back to the stock firmware versions.

The Note 3 started with Android 4.3 jelly bean out of the box on the 25th of September 2013. Since then it has received Android 4.4. through to Android 4.4.4 KitKat in several parts of the world.
