Is Snapinsta.com Safe?
I conducted a series of malware tests to find out if snapinsta.app is safe and legit. Here are the results:
I installed the Malwarebytes Browser Guard on my Edge browser and was able to browse the site snapinsta.app without any issues.
To check this further I ran malware scans with Malwarebytes and Spybot on my computer after browsing the site snapinsta.app and they returned no malware detection. I also ran a system-wide scan with Microsoft Defender and no malware was found.
To try to confirm that the site is clean, I also checked the site snapinsta.app on the online malware scanner Sucuri and it returned with a 403 Forbidden site issue. You can see the same here: https://sitecheck.sucuri.net/results/snapinsta.app
Sucuri says the scan for the site snapinsta.app failed due to a 403 Forbidden site issue. The scan failed at the following URL: http://snapinsta.app/. Since the scan failed at the homepage, it wasn’t able to scan the site at all. When this happens, Sucuri gives it an automatic grade of medium security risk.
On a positive note, I can see that a website firewall is installed. Moreover, no security vendors associated with Sucuri have blacklisted the site snapinsta.app, meaning they don’t think it’s a malicious site.
Some hardening improvements could be made such as creating an SPF record and solving the missing security headers listed below:
Missing security header to prevent Content Type sniffing.
Missing Strict-Transport-Security security header.
Missing Content-Security-Policy directive. We recommend to add the following CSP directives (you can use default-src if all values are the same): script-src, object-src, base-uri, frame-src
However, these hardening improvements don’t change the overall grade of the scan.
Next, I ran a parasite scan with Unmask Parasites on the site snapinsta.app and it came back clean. You can see the same here: https://unmask.sucuri.net/security-report/?page=snapinsta.app
Lastly, I ran a malware scan with VirusTotal on the domain snapinsta.app and no security vendor has flagged the domain as malicious. You can see the same here: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/domain/snapinsta.app
In conclusion, the site snapinsta.app is a medium security risk according to Sucuri because the scan failed due to a 403 Forbidden site issue which can be suspicious. However, no security vendor associated with Sucuri or VirusTotal has flagged the domain as malicious. Moreover, Unmask Parasites says the site snapinsta.app is clean. All things considered, the site snapinsta.app is likely safe.
