Google Chrome is the superfast Web Browser from the Internet Giant Google. In a little time, it has gotten excellent response from the users worldwide. People compare it with the Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. The Google Chrome browser comes with many features preloaded and other features can be added by using Extensions. The useful feature I found in the Google Chrome is the Incognito Window. When you open an Incognito Window in the Chrome and surf sites, the sites won’t be listed in the history and downloads won’t be listed in the Downloads section. So you can surf securely. If you have multiple accounts on the same website, then you can open Incognito Window for the each account to log in at once on the site.

Features of Incognito Window in Google Chrome:

  • The cookies and all other traces placed by various sites are deleted when you close the Incognito Window.
  • You can login to the same website with multiple accounts at once.
  • Visited sites won’t appear in Search History as well as History.
  • Downloads remain in the folder but won’t be listed in the Downloads list.

These are the great features I found in Google Chrome Incognito Window.

Using the Incognito mode in Google Chrome Click on the three dots that is available on the top left-hand side of the Google Chrome browser after you have the browser open already and then choose the “New incognito window” option from the menu.

Doing so immediately gives you the screenshot you can see below.

If you click on the “Learn More” button that is available from the screenshot above, you then get directed to a Google page that goes into great details about all the things you might want to know about the new incognito mode. You can have a read of the important part of the page in the screenshot below.

Now that you are in the incognito mode where you are browsing the web privately, you just use the Google Chrome browser the same way you used to use it. The only difference is that you now get surrounded by this dark gray color which is there so you can easily identify the difference between the standard browser and the new one. It doesn’t look pretty when you are inside the gray version, but at least you know that you are browsing in the right mode.

The incognito mode was never intended to be used all of the time or even close to the majority of the time which is why Google hasn’t made it very visually appealing to be in the mode. The main goal of Google with the extravagant color is being able to distinguish the difference between the two browsing options quickly.

Type in the web address (name of the website) that you want to visit and then click on the “Enter” button on the keyboard.

You then get the website loading. In my case, it’s the New Yorker website because that’s just one that I sometimes enjoy reading off the top of my head, built it works the same way for all websites.

That is everything you need to know to get your incognito mode working from the Google Chrome browser. It doesn’t matter what operating system you use for the incognito mode to work in your Google Chrome browser. For what it’s worth, this article was dome using the Windows 10 operating system on my home computer.
