1fichier.com is a cloud storage website. 1fichier.com is one of the leading online file-hosting services. It competes with other file hosting services such as MediaFire, Dropbox, Box, and Mega. 1fichier.com either owns or is affiliated with numerous other domains because you can choose to have your files hosted on 10 different domains that are not 1fichier.com. 1fichier.com offers registered users up to 1 TB of temporary storage.

As of February 2023, the site 1fichier.com gets an estimated 33.1 million monthly views, according to SimilarWeb. The Wayback Machine estimates 1fichier.com was founded on January 21, 2010. 1fichier.com claims it was founded in 2009.

Is 1fichier.com Safe?

I conducted a series of malware tests to find out if 1fichier.com is safe and legit. Here are the results:

I installed the Malwarebytes Browser Guard on my Edge browser and was able to browse the site 1fichier.com without any issues.

To check this further I ran malware scans with Malwarebytes and Spybot on my computer after browsing the site 1fichier.com and they returned no malware detection. I also ran a system-wide scan with Microsoft Defender and no malware was found.

To confirm that the site is clean, I also checked the site 1fichier.com on the online malware scanner Sucuri and it returned with no issues. You can see the same here: Sucuri scan for the site 1fichier.com

1fichier.com Sucuri results

Sucuri says the site 1fichier.com doesn’t have malware and is an overall low security risk. And no associated security vendors have blacklisted the site 1fichier.com as malicious.

Some hardening improvements can be made such as adding a website firewall and solving the missing security headers listed below:

Missing security header for ClickJacking Protection. Alternatively, you can use Content-Security-Policy: frame-ancestors ‘none’. Affected pages:
https://1fichier.com/404javascript.js
https://1fichier.com/404testpage4525d2fdc

Missing security header to prevent Content Type sniffing. Affected pages:
https://1fichier.com/404javascript.js
https://1fichier.com/404testpage4525d2fdc

Missing Strict-Transport-Security security header.

Missing Content-Security-Policy directive. We recommend to add the following CSP directives (you can use default-src if all values are the same): script-src, object-src, base-uri, frame-src

However, these hardening improvements are minor issues and don’t change the overall grade of the scan.

I also ran a parasite scan with Unmask Parasites on the site 1fichier.com and it came back clean. You can see the same here: Unmask Parasites scan for the site 1fichier.com

Lastly, I ran a malware scan with VirusTotal on the domain 1fichier.com and 1 out of 88 security vendors has flagged the domain as malicious. You can see the same here: VirusTotal scan for the site 1fichier.com

1fichier.com VirusTotal results

It’s never good when a security vendor flags a domain, but 1 out of 88 is still a low score and likely a false positive.

In conclusion, the site 1fichier.com is a low security risk and doesn’t have malware according to Sucuri. It is also clean of parasites. Moreover, only 1 out of 95 security vendors has flagged the domain as malicious which is likely a false positive.
