Vivaldi 3.6 is now available. It brings an innovative new way to deal with the problem of having too many tabs in your windows.

Dubbed two-level tab stacks, Vivaldi 3.6 allows you to click and drag tabs on top of other tabs to create tab groups (known as tab stacks). When enabled from the Vivaldi settings, you then also have the option of enabling two-level tab stacks so the tab stack you created also created a secondary layer of tabs. This means you can have your usual layer of tabs taking up the back row and your chosen two-level tab stacks at the front.

This of course comes with the one downside: the cost of losing some screen real estate. But since you aren’t forced into losing it, those looking for more space now have the option of giving up some real estate for the added benefit of being able to better see tabs.

This new version of Vivaldi now brings the browser to Android for the first time. You can find it on the Google Play Store which is an app you will already have on your device.

Vivaldi 3.6 adds more tab functionality than just two-levelled stacks. You can also view multiple sites in split-screen view with Tab Tiling or go for tree-style view with the Window Panel.

The two-level tab stacks can also be arranged vertically.

There isn’t much else to report in Vivaldi 3.6. However, Vivaldi does claim to have solved 55 bugs and a total of seven new features.
