The Galaxy S4 Mini Duos i9192 is brand new. It was announced by Samsung at their launch recently in London. This update rolled out to many over the air, including countries such as Brazil, Panama, Trinidad, and Tobago. It came with 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box, so there are bug fixes and improvements that will come along with updating manually.

There’s arguably a little less reason to be excited to see this 4.2.2 onto the smaller S4 mini. The purpose I say that is that the main thing here is always the smoothness. It’s hard to see how fluid the software is that you’re using. The plus side to that is that it never really looks anywhere as bad as what others are experiencing before they get to these updates. With that being said, there are still at minimum some new features for you guys to use that you otherwise wouldn’t have had the chance to. Right off the bat let’s get rid of the negatives first: There is no Google Now widget along for the ride this time around. That’s somewhat disappointing because other devices have it and we didn’t get really to enjoy the crisp new, faultless software. It should come soon enough though, so don’t worry.

Now for the positives: Bluetooth will now be a problem-free service. Many users on the older stuff were complaining about the streaming going bad for them. Well, for all of you guys out there that should now be rectified. Once a notification comes in you can now long press and it will display a message in full rather than you have to open it up manually the long way around. That in itself is enough of a goal to get me to upgrade if I happened to have one of these handsets which I do not have at the moment. For now, it will have to be just you guys who enjoy that one by yourselves.

If you are reading this anywhere near Christmas times, then you may want to shop around for a newer update which is the KitKat. There’s a possibility that there will be a separate chocolate build for you to use rather than installing this.

Being from the Galaxy range, you can rest assured that it will have a Micro SD card slot. That’s a good thing because we want to use this to learn how to back up our device. Along with it, if you buy a reader, you can then back up everything to a computer, then create a new folder, and have all of your phone’s contents in that file. Assuming you are familiar with a standard computer, then this should be easy for you. Some people prefer not to do it this way because it’s quite timely. If you have any experience in watching something get downloaded from one file over to another file, especially if it’s video then you’ll be well aware of what I’m talking about. 1 GB of video can take nearly five minutes. You don’t have to be standing there waiting for it to finish, but you do have to be there to begin the file transfer each time. It generally will only give good speeds if you do up to three at a time depending on your computer memory usage. To me, it perpetually appears to be about this amount.

Checklist

  • Up-to-date Samsung Galaxy USB drivers.
  • USB Debugging Mode is enabled by visiting the Develop Options menu.
  • A Windows PC that runs between XP, Vista, Windows 7 or 8.
  • The guide does not support Apple Mac laptops or computers because Odin is an app made by Samsung developers for Microsoft Windows operating systems only.
  • Take a full backup of the OS consisting of everything you installed on the device since opening it out of the box. If you are not engaged in doing so, then have to think about the important things, you don’t want to risk losing and just back up those instead. For example, most people cannot afford to lose their contacts and it will take hours of work to replace them if they are lost.
  • We do not expect data loss to come out of following this guide but if a factory reset must be applied then there will be a wiped OS that retains nothing. The only way to keep your belongings is to take a backup and load it back on the internal memory system.
  • Following this guide will revoke any root access that you previously had working. The good news is that the warranty will be in perfect working order again and the flash counter moved back to zero.

How To Install Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean UBUAMF7 Official Firmware On The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Duos I9192

1. Download Odin 3.07.

2. Download the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean UBUAMF7 and then put it in download mode.

– press and hold Power + Home + Volume down buttons at the same time to unlock Download Mode.

3. Open the ODIN, which we downloaded and then connects the mobile.

– have it open and running before proceeding to plug in the handset to the system unit

4. Now from the other extracted file we downloaded, you need to place the tar. MD. 5 files to the PDA button.

– 3.07 comes with a PDA button and not the AP button that comes in 3.09

– wait for the file extension to upload fully before continuing to the next step

Check Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time boxes.

– by default Odin already has these two boxes checked. Only do this if for some reason somebody has unchecked the boxes previously.

5. Press start when you are ready.

– the flashing process will begin.

Don’t be tempted to switch it off because it is taking too long. It is normal for it to be slow to do its thing. The message will show up that is green in color, explaining if it has passed or failed and then the device will reboot by itself.
