If you have a Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge, get ready for a brand new firmware update. The update is approximately 147MB and will present various bug fixes and improvements for the two devices. There was no more detail concerning what changes exactly the update brings in official Sprint documentation, so you’ll have to update your S6 or S6 Edge to see the changes.

An inquiry to update will likely show up in your device’s notification panel in the next few days. You can also delve into your settings to check if you have this update or to initialize the update. Once you complete the update  you will see software version G920PVPU2BOFE on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and G925PVPU2BOFE on the S6 Edge. If you get the update in these next few days, try to let fellow readers know, in the comments, what exact changes were made.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

You already know Android Lollipop for coming with some amazing features, including Material Design through the UI, material design flowing through the app drawer, new notifications with a ‘do not disturb’ feature, tap and Go NFC payments, performance enhancements and plenty of other goodies. The latest installment we have here is only for minor bug fixes and improvements. So, if you are thinking you need to apply a hard reset lately because your device isn’t working the way it should, try checking for a software update from your Settings first and that might fix the problem.

You don’t need to back up the Samsung Galaxy S6 before applying a software update. However, you must backup before applying any hard reset or else you’ll lose the data. The OTA notification should roll out automatically and arrive at your devices display as a new notification. If you do not see the notification rolling out in your direction, try tapping the Settings > About Device > Software Updates and checking if there’s one waiting. Over the air signals can take several weeks to find everybody with the Galaxy S6, so if you don’t have the notification yet it doesn’t mean it isn’t still coming.
