The Samsung Galaxy K Zoom has been announced by our beloved Sammy and has a whopping 20.7 megapixel rear-facing snapper on board. Many are reporting it a “selfie” dream, but we do not agree with that because the front-facing snapper is only 2 megapixels and we all know that it is the front camera that is used for “selfies” don’t we Mashable? It is also extremely thick and that makes it very difficult take one-handed photos. That is funny because it was rumored to have much thinner chassis than the original S4 Zoom that I was not a fan of because it looked more like a camera than a smartphone even though they were marketing it as the latter.

Anyway, the new K Zoom is yet to be given an official price by Samsung. However, by taking into account all of it is features combined with our knowledge we are predicting Samsung to reveal a price in between $650 and $700 dollars. We do know that its announcement came on the 29th of April and it is scheduled to release in Q2 of 2014. We are already in Q2 now because a “Q” lasts for 3 months of the year starting at January. That means we can expect this smartphone to be available within the remaining two month period.

If you would like to learn more about the camera, it has a 10 x optical Zoom, Back-illuminated sensor, Face detection, Macro mode, Blink detection, Optical image stabilization, Autofocus, Night mode, Self-timer, Touch to focus and CMOS image sensor. Some of our favourite features here are the blink and face detection that help captures better photos by reducing the amount of things that can go wrong during a shot. All too often we have to take about five shots because there is always somebody with a face that isn’t quite right. Nowadays, the technology inside of smartphones sorts these issues out automatically by adjusting when it takes a photo if it detects one of these issues is currently happening.

The K Zoom does not look as nice as the flagship Galaxy S5, and for that reason I expect the price to come in less than what the S5 did. Sam Mobile has already reported the Netherlands will have this mobile up for sale for €499. If that price stays the same and I transfer it over to US dollars with the way the US dollar is today, it equates to $688. This price falls within my earlier prediction. Exact prices will vary depending on what country you are in so if you are interested in buying this handset as soon as it comes out don’t worry because I anticipate the official amount will come out soon.
