Now that you have both root and a custom recovery on your phone, you are free to enjoy some custom developments on your phone. From simple root-requiring apps to difficult things like custom ROMs, you can flash almost anything on your phone as long as it is a supported item by your phone.

Root-only apps let you customize the inner elements on your phone – namely the system files that are not usually available for viewing or editing. But with root, they can be viewed using a compatible root explorer and can be edited as well. In case you wish to delete these files, make sure you know what you are doing, or you will end up messing the files and making your phone unstable.

A custom ROM, also known as the customized version of the OS, lets you change the entire system and appearance of your phone in one shot. That way, you can get new features, apps, and tons of other things by just flashing a single file using a custom recovery on your phone.
