If you are the owner of a Galaxy Note 10.1 and want to take full advantage of it, then the best way to do that is to root is, install recovery and even flash a custom ROM. Well good news, we have the guide, thanks to XDA Developers member, Zedomax, so you can go ahead and flash ROMs to your heart’s content. All you need to do is follow the steps below.

The guide we are showing you today shouldn’t take longer than ten minutes to complete, and it comes with a custom recovery. The custom recovery will allow you to flash a custom ROM. Keep booting the device into the custom recovery to flash future custom ROM zip files. Just be sure to wipe each ROM before installing another ROM.

A custom recovery such as ClockworkMod recovery comes with a NANDroid backup option. You should take these backups in between flashing custom ROMs since you do lose any data that isn’t backed up between flashing ROMs when you wipe the old version. You will see the NANDroid option from the recovery menu.

Understand that a custom recovery and a stock recovery are two entirely different things. The custom recovery is what you need to install zip files; thus it’s the only option for flashing custom ROMs. There’s really no other reason for it than that. As you probably already know, smartphone and tablets coming from Android OEMs are under restrictions that don’t allow you to have full access to the internal hardware. It’s these same restrictions that stops us from flashing zip files from the stock recovery. Android don’t include the option on purpose so we cannot indulge in ROMs that aren’t the stock Android.
