We are now barely a month away from what will be the most anticipated smartphone release this year. It’s never been more competitive compared to what it is now with Samsung, HTC and LG alike all having monstrous years that could be even bigger if the rumors of the new 805 SoC are coming in more premium variants of their original flagships released earlier in the year? How does this all tie into what Apple are doing with the iPhone 6 you ask? When it comes to hardware the fruit company is always hard to beat, and they have a way with processors that are always ahead of time. Yes, they are expensive investments but you’re also getting technology light years ahead of the competition. People can argue about features and operating systems all they want but a quick look at the benchmark tests will leave you unable to argue that point.

We’ve seen lots of dummy iPhone 6 models come out and even published a few that we thought were worth a look ourselves, but none has come close to looking as realistic as today’s brand new edition. We have been following the iPhone 6 talk closely and taken in-depth looks at what are selling out there as facts. Now of course everything needs to be considered with a grain of salt but when we combine source and combined knowledge we can start to piece together what we think the next flagship for Apple will look like, and this is very close.

To serve as a refresher, this is what we think the new iPhone 6 will have on board: It will obviously run iOS 8 because the Cupertino company release a new OS alongside the smartphone every year. For arguments sake, if you are into jailbreaking the OS you will want to do that now to enjoy it before the next software version comes out. It will be water-resistant to compete with the other Android handsets like the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Sony Xperia Z2 although the Sony G3 is not and people love it for leading the way with other hardware. According to the LG waterproof phones, just aren’t that useful. Sammy would disagree as they are currently airing an advertisement on my television that shows water-proof phones as the perfect handset to have around Australia and sitting next to the pool without a care in the world. That instantly put LG’s theory under the pump with no pun intended.

It will have a 4.7-inch display and 960 x 1704 pixels screen resolution. The pixel density is 416 ppi; it is a touch screen and comes with proximity sensor, light sensor, Oleophobic coating and scratch resistant glass. The rear-facing camera is 10 megapixels, and the front-facing shooter is 2.1 megapixels. For the hardware we are getting the Apple A8 system chip which will be amazing, a 2600 MHz processor and a whopping 128 GB.

The rumors of the 5.5-inch phablet will not die down, and we are confident that this year Apple will produce something within that range. The picture’s here are of the smaller phone still standing under 5-inches but a step up from where they have always preferred to be which is near the 4-inch size.

What do you think of these pictures? If the real mobile was coming out looking like this would you be satisfied or does it seem like a step back in time?
