The Legacy team for Paranoid Android are releasing a new 4.6 beta 5 build with the code name Playful Pitaya for the G2 smartphones. Since this is the fifth installment on our way to the final build, you can install this one with confidence that most bugs are taken away and most features are in perfect working order. However, as a complete ROM it’s still not perfect for that daily drivers since we know it isn’t the final build yet. Nevertheless, it’s an exciting time for those wanting a custom Android 4.4.4 KitKat experience on the LG G2 smartphones from the Life’s Good company.
If you are into customizing and tweaking the OS by flashing custom ROMs or custom firmware then you’ll likely know who I’m talking about when I say the word paranoid Android. They offer one of the most well-known ROMs out there and cater for roughly fifty smartphones and tablets. After initially starting with small roots connected with the OnePlus handsets needing the invitation, Google Nexus and Oppo Find phones, they branched out with connections to most modern-day phones from low-end to top of the range.
Apart from the usual bug fixes over the last build, users will find better battery life when using the fifth beta version. The fine tuning of the DSB settings is allowing for that. We know that DSB frequency has an impact on the battery. Moreover, the Dynamic System Bar comes with additional tweaks. We are anticipating the final edition coming soon enough since we know that Google are expected to release the Android 5.0 Lollipop software update in the next couple of weeks sometime during early November. However, no date is revealed just yet. Once the Lollipop software is release for the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 the PA team can use it to start working on the Lollipop custom experience. Therefore, they don’t want to wait to long before the next installment of KitKat.
