Since its launch, we have seen another problem with the Xbox One gaming console. It’s very much the same as the last that were along for the ride in the Xbox 360. The problem I’m talking about is the “cannot read disk drive” error that comes up. I had this myself within the first week or so of using mine.

Facing the burden of having to return it and not really knowing where I come up with the packaging to put it in, I gave it a blow with my mouth inside the disk tray. After starting it up and inserting the disk, it was working again. Moral of the story: You’re surprised how simple these kinds of issues are to fix. Having said that, they are issues none-the-less, and they shouldn’t be happening in the first place.

It’s by far the most common problem owners are facing now. In terms of solutions, I’d take a guess at it being well worth your while. Others have some rather extravagant methods, such as turning it upside down and waiting for a while, followed by inserting the disk upside down and attempting to play. As funny as it may sound, I remember a childhood friend that used to play the original PlayStation in this way, and it was a good solution then.

It doesn’t just end with the new console on its way, either. Check out what the Microsoft spokesperson had to say about the new appealing deal:

“While a replacement console is on its way, we want to ensure our advance exchange customers can stay in the game. We will provide each of them with a free digital download of one of the launch titles published by Microsoft Studios.”

After just being released the Microsoft team also released a new SmartGlass application to go along with it. This app will enhance your gaming experience. If you haven’t used it yet, give it a try.

This came not long after Windows 8 apps were working on the One console. Not a feature that many people were expecting to happen.
