Rooting an Android mobile device is when we break away from the factory restrictions that clamp us down. It’s just like becoming an administrator if you are familiar with Windows operating systems on your laptop, notebook or desktop computer. If you don’t have those administrator permissions, then you cannot take full advantage of all the features that your computer is capable of using. Apply that same thinking to a mobile device, and that’s why people want rot access. By unrooting the device we are giving up the admin rights again and going back to owning a locked device. It’s not all bad when we do that though; it does have its advantages.

The main advantage with unrooting your mobile is that you can use the warranty again — assuming you still have time left on the warranty you purchased. If you are suffering from any lag, bad battery life, bugs, system crashes, freezes, you can install a stock ROM and fix those problems. Installing the stock Android ROM is the same thing as unrooting for this Huawei valiant. Once you install the stock ROM, you are using the device just like it was when you opened the Valiant out of the box.

The Files You Need

  • Download the stock ROM for your device from this page.
  • Download the Quick Boot app from the Google Play Store link here.
  • You can use this guide on any computer. All you need to do is make sure you have the USB cable and a USB port so you can connect the Huawei Valiant to the computer and get the firmware file on your SD card.

Unrooting The Huawei Valiant

  1. Download the stock ROM zip file to the desktop of the computer. Do not unzip the file.
  2. Transfer that same file over to the internal storage SD card on the Valiant phone.
  3. Download the Quick Boot app from the Google Play Store on your phone. The link is given above but it’s probably just as easy to enter the Google Play Store app on your device and search for the Quick Boot app.
  4. Remember to sign into your Google account so you can use the Google Play Store.
  5. Unplug the Huawei valiant from the computer.
  6. Launch the Quick Boot app from the app drawer on the mobile device.
  7. Tap the Recovery option from the Quick Boot menu.
  8. Your device will now boot into the recovery mode.
  9. Wait until you are in recovery and then select the install zip from SD card.
  10. Browse the SD card for the stock ROM zip file.
  11. Flash that zip file by confirming you want to install it on the phone.
  12. At this stage you are done with the Quick Boot app and you just need to select the reboot system option from the recovery menu.
  13. Now your Huawei handset will reboot and you will no longer have the root access you had before. You can check that the guide worked for you by installing the root checker app from the Google Play Store.
