The Files You Need

  • Download the stock ROM for the Y200 smartphone from this page.
  • You can use any computer to follow this guide. You just need to have a USB cable and to be able to connect the smartphone to the computer so you can transfer the file. It doesn’t require any program to get that done. Apart from a potential driver issue not allowing you to connect the phone, you shouldn’t have any problems.

Unrooting The Huawei Ascend Y200

  1. Download the stock ROM for your Android firmware form the link above in the files section.
  2. Right-click over the file once it’s on the desktop.
  3. Choose the extract here option from the menu once you right-click the mouse over the ROM file.
  4. Connect the Huawei Ascend Y200 to the computer with the USB cable.
  5. Copy and paste or drag the file from the desktop to the internal SD card of the device.
  6. Make sure the firmware (Stock ROM) is not hidden in any sub folder when you are transferring the file to the SD card.
  7. When you are happy you have the ROM on the SD card, unplug the smartphone from the computer.
  8. Long-press the Power button on the Ascend smartphone until you know that it is completely off and not sleeping.
  9. Reboot the same smartphone holding the Power + Volume Up + Volume Down keys together.

You can make sure that it worked before sending it away under warranty by installing the root checker app. Normally people use the root checker app to check if it does have root access. However, you can use it to check if it doesn’t have root access also.
