In order to install root-requiring apps on your Samsung Galaxy Express 2, you must first root your device. Rooting the Samsung Galaxy Express 2 is much easier than rooting any other device, all thanks to Chainfire. Flashing a single file on your device will give you root-access that you can use to take advantage of the actual powers of your device.

Not only does it let you install root-requiring apps, but it allows you to flash a custom recovery as well that you can use to flash a custom ROM on your device. If I’m to talk about the advantages of root-access, I’d need a separate post for it. So let’s keep it aside and see how you can gain root on your Samsung Galaxy Express 2:

Galaxy Express 2

Files You Need

1. Your computer must have Samsung USB Drivers installed on it. If it doesn’t, go ahead and get them first.

2. Download CF-Root for the Samsung Galaxy Express 2 to your computer. You’ll flash it to gain root-access on your device.

3. Download Odin to your computer. It is what you will use to flash the above file on your device.

4. Please do not try this on a device other than SM-G3815.

Rooting the Samsung Galaxy Express 2

1. Right-click on CF-Root and select Extract here. Do the same for Odin as well. It’ll uncompress the archives to your computer.

2. Once uncompressed, double-click on Odin and it’ll launch.

3. In Odin, there’s a button that says PDA. Click on it and it’ll let you select a file to be flashed on your phone. Select the CF-Root file available on your computer.

4. Make sure Repartition box is unchecked in the tool.

5. Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time boxes can be checkmarked as they won’t cause any issues.

6. Turn off your device.

7. Turn your device back on by holding down Volume DOWN+Home+Power buttons together.

8. You should see a warning message on your screen. Just press the Volume UP key and you’ll enter download mode.

9. Plug in your phone to your computer with the help of a USB cable.

10. Click on Start in the Odin and wait for it to finish the flashing procedure.
