During its initial market release, the Samsung Conquer was one of the cheapest 4G phones you could find. Now we all know that equals blazing speeds, but what does it mean for operating system performance and features? Unfortunately, nothing. Luckily, you can still use the guide below and hack open the system internals with root access. Only then can you start installing a custom ROM, custom firmware and extra apps from the Google Play store.

Details We Should Know

  1. You’ll need at least 80% battery power before starting the steps. That’s our recommendation because you are not remaining connected to the computer for the duration of the guide. You will be entering commands with the phone unplugged. Moreover, the phone is getting older now and some of you will have lost much of the battery performance.
  2. You should enable USB Debugging Mode. Developer Options doesn’t exist for this build yet, so you’ll need to navigate there directly from the Settings menu.
  3. You’ll need the Samsung USB drivers for mobile phones downloaded and ready to roll on the computer for the phone. Visit the official Samsung website page, or click the link here to download them direct from a third-party source.
