The Samsung Galaxy S6 is a great device — the most powerful in today’s smartphone market. The aforementioned Samsung smartphone is the prettiest in Samsung Galaxy flagship devices. Deep sleep is a state in smartphones, which evokes when we locks it, its display goes off and it also stops some background processes which also save battery. However, in Samsung Galaxy S6, it keeps all the background processes running which leads to battery drain. this is the most common problem in smartphones. As I told you before, you need to learn how to root the Samsung Galaxy S6 phone before fixing this issue, so it would be better to know that rooting is an unofficial process. It is not recommended by Samsung or Google so it may also void your phone’s warranty. Rooting also may brick down your device if not done correctly so take care when you try to root your phone.
All you need for this fix is a Windows-based PC, a USB cable to connect your phone to your PC and your root on the Galaxy S6. On your phone, enable USB Debugging Mode by going to Settings > About Phone > tap on the build number 7 times (this will enable Developer Options in the settings menu). Next, come back to Settings > Developer Options > check USB debugging option from here. Also, make sure that your Galaxy S6 phone should have enough battery so it won’t go off automatically during this process.
Steps to fix deep sleep issue on Samsung Galaxy S6
There are two methods with which you can fix this issue on your device:
Flashing stock firmware:
- This issue arises when you install any custom firmware on your device to manually update it to the next version of Android. So you can fix this issue with this method also, you have to flash the stock firmware of Samsung Galaxy S6 using Odin software.
- Galaxy S6 stock firmware (download the specific firmware for your phone’s model number)
- Odin software
- If this method don’t work for you then you may proceed to the next method
Manually fix this issue using commands
- First you have to download and install Terminal Emulator on your phone from Google Play Store.
- Now go to apps and launch terminal Emulator from there.
- On the terminal emulator type “su” and press enter, after you press enter you will be asked to grant root access, grant or allow it to go ahead to the next step.
- Now type these commands one by one on emulator:
mount -o rw,remount /system /system
mkdir /system/su.d
chmod 0700 /system/su.d
echo "#!/tmp-mksh/tmp-mksh" > /system/su.d/000000deepsleep
echo "echo 'temporary none' > /sys/class/scsi_disk/0:0:0:1/cache_type" >>
/system/su.d/000000deepsleep
chmod 0700 /system/su.d/000000deepsleep
- Now reboot your phone to take effect of these settings, for that type “reboot” on terminal emulator.
