This year’s HTC One is always difficult to talk about because its proper name hasn’t been made official so we don’t know what to call it. For now we are sticking with the 2014 edition of the HTC One, and if another name comes to light you’ll know that we are referring to the same device.
The handset’s name doesn’t matter now anyway because today we have received a leaked photo that landed on the Hard Forum by one of the registered users. To keep himself unanimous he hasn’t revealed his name or what he does inside of the HTC company that allowed him to get up close to the new silver HTC One 2014 model Smartphone. The photo really does look real though, so we aren’t going to doubt it. With that being said, nothing is confirmed until we see the Taiwanese manufacturer of Smartphones and tablets unveil it themselves.
If it does turn out true, we love the look of this phone. The silver looks really great for this shape. It also looks good when the screen display is turned off and the screen has a black look like you can see in the picture below:
In other news, HTC is still looking to launch a Smartwatch later this year, and the band we are seeing being used in the pictures is also gray. It also has a white border around the face of the watch. If they are the colors used it would look really nice also and would go really well with this gray phone. That’s something to think about before you go shopping.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 was just unveiled to the world earlier in the week, and people have mixed feelings about it. It did come with the fingerprint scanner, but the phone still left people feeling like it lacked something. Apple unveiled the iPhone last year that had the fingerprint scanner on it already. What most people don’t know is that Samsung plan on launching another Galaxy S5 mid-year and it will have better specs including the Snapdragon 805 processor. Right now the current Galaxy S5 has the Snapdragon 800, and because this HTC One 2014 is in direct competition, they have decided to beat that benchmark by giving it a Snapdragon 801 processor. If all goes to plan for Samsung, the HTC chip will only be beating it for 6 months, and the other half of the year will have Sammy well ahead.
Specs aren’t confirmed, but rumors suggest the HTC One will have a 5-inch Full HD display and it will come preloaded with Android 4.4 KitKat. That will give it an up to date operating system. Currently, as far as the Android OS goes is Android 4.4.2 which has altered a couple of features. The sensor bar is now completely white, Google Hangouts is the default SMS and MMS messenger service and the camera application is now positioned on the lock screen so it can be used without the passcode.
