It’s no secret Google+ is still falling behind other big-name social networks, but the Mountain view company isn’t giving in just yet, and with good reason. It seems their resilience is somewhat paying off. A part of that can be attributed to the Google+ Hangouts feature that has been taken in under the wing from many prominent sports franchises including the Houston Rockets.

Google Hangouts offer a place where videocasts can be hosted and shared throughout the world. All of this can be done live too, and it seems that Google is onto a good thing here. It does have its limitations still, however, and Google has tried to address some of them today by expanding on what Hangouts can do.

Today the Google+ Hangouts received an update which includes all new live broadcasting features. The main update is all about being able to make to the live feeds. Similar to what we have seen creep into TV technology of late, the new Google+ Hangouts allow users to rewind the live casts among other adjustments.Google has also vowed to give access to the video casts as soon as they finish instead of the usual delay.

All-in-all it’s a neat little update by Google for the Google+ hangouts that Google hopes only becomes more popular in time.
