It’s not uncommon for your passwords to have been breached over the course of a year. And Google is able to identify any passwords that may need updating if they suspect a data breach has occurred. These data breaches are not necessarily related to Google, but since you are using the Google browser, they can still alert you to this, which is good for your security.

You should have several passwords and use different passwords for a given website. Keep your strongest passwords, which will be the most secure passwords, for the websites that are most important to you. And use different passwords that are perhaps not as strong for your everyday accounts which may be comprised more often.

People accumulate many user accounts that each requires a password over time and often far more than they realize. Giving the occasional checkup to this area of the Google account can help you keep up to date with just how many user accounts you have.

To update Chrome, open the browser and head to Settings and more > Help > About Google Chrome. The browser will then automatically check for updates. If you have just opened Chrome, the browser will have automatically updated when it was closed.
