Samsung are masters of business management and that is obvious by how successful they are. We are about to get another yearly dose of their expertise when they launch the Galaxy Note 4 to coincide with the Apple iPhone 6 launch and take some of the attention away from Apple. There’s nothing wrong with being that sinister in the industry and it’s almost become the norm to expect these three companies in Apple, Microsoft and Android to battle it out anyway they see fit. For the most part it’s a non issue because rarely do we see people swapping companies. Therefore the Cupertino gang can still expect to find the same faithful group of loyal fans flocking over their products.
Anyhow, today it’s all about the Note 4 and what looks like a Lumia knock-off. It’s not exactly Nokia-esque with what they produce with the Windows Phone lineup, but it’s a huge difference from what we know about the existing Note range and from what we were expecting. Bare in mind it is only one picture we are assessing and that will be subject to change if we were to have a different angle. However, when you are observing a new smartphone/phablet from this close up and straight on it’s hard to get it wrong. About the only question here is its authenticity.
And about that: if you were getting scared it’s time to stop because this is the Note 4 sitting inside of a box packaging. According to reports this will be what it comes in and not the outer shell of the handset itself. That’s good news if you wanted some traditional Note look in your hands when this is unveiled during the IFA in Berlin. Reports suggest that it will come with Android 4.4.3 KitKat, but today along with this leak from Android central, we are also witnessing a leaked screenshot that shows Android 4.4.4 KitKat for the model number SM-N910T. Suffice to say it appears as though those specs are changing to make sure it keeps up with the very latest version of Android even though we know the Android L Develop preview is well and truly under way.
In addition to all that, the new smartphone is coming with a 5.7-inch display, 1440 x 2560 pixels screen resolution, 515 ppi pixel density, Super AMOLED technology and the usual light sensor and proximity sensor. We also know that the camera comes with a 16 megapixels Dual LED rear-facing shooter coupled with a 2 megapixel front-facing shooter. As for the hardware, we are seeing a Exynos 5433 system chip, 8-core, 1300 MHz, ARM Cortex-A57 and ARM Cortex-A53 processors, ARM Mali-T760 graphics processor, 4096 MB RAM system memory and 64 GB of internal storage space.
The launch date is the 3rd of September in just a few days time, so make sure you stay tuned and look out for this one. You should know that it is around six days before the iPhone 6 launch, so not only do they deliberately launch in alongside Apple’s new range, but they also decided to open the curtain just before it.
