After Google’s big announcement of the Android 4.3 jelly Bean it looks as if the Nexus 4 is the first device to get the opportunity to upgrade. To many people this rolled out into the settings, however, not everyone yet. If you want to upgrade to the Android 4.3 JWR66V build manually, then you can do so by following this guide we have here.

The firmware we are flashing today is official and issued by the real Samsung developers. using it will revoke root access and the device will no longer be unchained. Furthermore, if you have a custom ROM installed it will wipe the system partition and data. Therefore you must backup all sensitive data including the phone contacts, SMS and MMS texts, market applications, pictures, music files and anything else you need.

The Google Nexus 4 USB drivers are needed. Many already have them, so they won’t need to download them again unless they’re out of date. However, some of you may not, so go ahead and download those.

Enable USB debugging mode from the Developer Options menu. Without it there will be connection issues. Every Android is capable of this, it’s just a matter of working out where to find it depending on what device you have and what version of the operating system it is running. It generally is very similar, though.

What else is new? Android 4.4 KitKat is coming soon for this handset. It isn’t out yet so going ahead and get stuck into this one for the time being. But before too long you can expect another update heading your way into the chocolate software. Before the new year comes around it might be time to check back and see if it is there if you haven’t noticed any notifications up until that time because there’s a good chance it gets it along with the Nexus 7 which has been recently released.

The Nexus 4 is easily distinguishable because of its 4.7 inch frame. This is where many of the names come from — the size of it. The screen has a respectable IPS LCD display. It’s also very camera smart with it being able to detect smiles!

Always back up your tablets before doing anything like this. It is not a necessity because you shouldn’t naturally lose your data, however, stranger things have happened. Internal storage is easiest, but if it’s already plugged in the computer, then you can also do it from there. Just make sure you have disabled the antivirus first to avoid any conflicts.
