SuperSUMagisk was long the preferred method for getting root access. However, since Android SafetyNet, Magisk is now the preferred method. This is because Magisk is not just a great rooting method; it is also the most common method for passing SafetyNet now that SafetyNet exists.

To pass SafetyNet, you need to install Magisk modules to change the device’s fingerprint. But you can also toggle root access off temporarily before using apps that are guarded by SafetyNet and still use the apps that require you to have not tripped SafetyNet before granting yourself the rooting permissions again.

How to Install Magisk

There are two general methods for installing Magisk. Most people install it via the TWRP custom recovery image. However, there is also a method to install Magisk without TWRP.
