If you want to have root access without tripping SafetyNet, you need to get root with Magisk. It is Magisk that allows you to turn off root access for the times you want to use apps guarded by SafetyNet such as Android Pay.
Installing Magisk is done from a custom recovery image. Before installing the custom recovery, you will need to have unlocked the bootloader. Once the bootloader is unlocked and custom recovery is installed, you are ready to install Magisk.

How to Install Magisk
There are two general methods for installing Magisk. Most people install it via the TWRP custom recovery image. However, there is also a method to install Magisk without TWRP.

Thanks. I can confirm these are Magisk links.
I tried installing Magisk with TWRP Recovery via the sideloading feature. However, after doing so now when I open the Magisk Manager it gets stuck on the splash screen. What can I do? Please help.

TWRP is the most common method for installing Magisk, but it’s not the only way. There may also be more than one method when using TWRP. Some smartphones may need to get Magisk a different way than others, which is why we create so many unique tutorials. You would need to follow the instructions of the developer/a reliable website that you trust. What is the name of the device? I can try to take a look if you’d like.
