Instagram is full of breathtaking photos and many times you may want to download those photos to your device. Maybe you liked that photo of a sunset in Japan, and you want to set it as your wallpaper, or maybe you liked that photo of glaciers, and you really want it to be saved on your device.
Regardless of the reasoning, saving a photo from Instagram to your Android device is as easy as sharing an URL. All you need to do is download an app that helps you download Instagram photos and then you are good to go with collecting your favorite photos from Instagram.
The following guide should teach you how you can go about using an app to save photos from Instagram to your device. The app allows you to download your own as well as others’ photos available on Instagram.
Download Instagram Photos on an Android Device
To do the task, you are going to use a free app called InstaSave. The app is available for free to download on the official Google Play Store.
First of all, open the App Drawer on your Android device and tap on Play Store to launch the Google Play Store. Then, search for and tap on “InstaSave.” It will open the app page. Then, tap on the button that says “Install” to begin installing the app on your Android device.
After the app is installed on your device, open your App Drawer and look for and tap on “InstaSave.” The app then launches on your device.
When the InstaSave app launches, you will see a screen that looks like the following. On this screen, what you need to do is turn the toggle to the ON position. The toggle is located in the middle of the screen, and all you have to do is turn it on. Once turned on, the app will become active.
After turning ON the toggle, tap on the big button that says “Open Instagram.” This button opens the Instagram app on your device. That is where you will choose what photos to be downloaded on your device.
When the Instagram app opens, browse through the photos that you want to download on your device. Once you have found a photo that you want to download, tap on three dots given at the top-right corner of the photo, and it launches a menu on your screen. From the options available to you in the menu, tap on the one that says “Copy Share URL.”
What you did above was you copied the URL of the photo you wanted to download. Now, what you need to do is go back to the InstaSave app and provide it with the share URL for it to download the photo for you. Hit the back button a few times on your device, and you should be back to the InstaSave app. Once there, the app will automatically start downloading the photo for you.
When the photo has been downloaded, you will find it in the Gallery app on your device.
