The Motorola Droid developed a strong following and has received mixed reviews. Some people can only find the camera as being something to complain about while others find nothing positive to say at all.

The Motorola Droid 2 was a Verizon exclusive smartphone and obviously did enough for it to come out again in the form of a third-generation smartphone that we know as the Motorola Droid 3 device.

It looks like these will continue to be Verizon Wireless exclusive devices. The Big Red company is known as a company that does not let people unlock a bootloader — even as an HTC developer. However, we know that the Droid series can be unlocked, rooted, and have a custom recovery installed. Furthermore, CyanogenMod creates some custom ROMs for these devices.
