The LG G Pro 2 was first introduced during the at Mobile World Congress 2014 tech fair in Barcelona. The G Pro 2 device has the Volume and Power buttons roughly in the same position as the LG G2 flagship, so if you didn’t mind the keys there, you won’t mind this new device. The G Pro 2 is a durable handset that boasts many of the same looks as most LG smartphones. It was made to be a larger version of the now outdated G2 flagship from a few years ago.

It comes with some technology under the hood that you would find on more expensive and newer devices, including a 13 megapixel primary snapper on the back. It comes with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, but has been updated OTA with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop. There are no reports whether Android 6.0 marshmallow is coming. However, the G Pro 2 should be popular enough for developers to at least make a few custom ROMs based on Marshmallow if that’s important to you.

Rivals:

The LG G pro 2 rivals the LG G Flex, Samsung Galaxy S5, LG Optimus G Pro and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. People who have bought the G Pro 2 have also been interested in the LG G2 and the G3. It, to a lesser extent, rivals the LG G4 too; however, most would easily prefer to own the current flagship G4 device over the G Pro 2 handset any day of the week.
