Announced during December of 2015, the HTC One A9 is supposed to be the smartphone that puts some life back into the Taiwanese manufacturer after recent sales slumps. They needed to bring in a fresh design that didn’t look like the current M series flagship line.

The HTC One A9 was originally rumored to have a Snapdragon 820 system chip under the hood. That didn’t happen. It did, however, get the same MediaTek Helio X10 system chip that was featured on the HTC One ME handset overseas — a spin-off of the original HTC One M9 flagship for overseas markets. Though labelled a spin-off, it is still obviously a very capable system chip that offers great performance.
