Android roots are becoming very popular for many reasons. The main few reasons is because it’s so much easier to do than jailbreaking. While jailbreakers are waiting for an iPhone 4S jailbreak, Android users are greeted with the root almost right away. Once the root access has been obtained Android users are now able to use many different custom ROMs for their devices.

The most popular aftermarket firmware for Android devices is without a doubt CyanogenMod. It has been recorded that now over 2.5 million people use the CyanogenMod custom firmware. CyanogenMod lets users get the latest version of Android  whilst still being able to customize it. Earlier this year CyanogenMod Nightly for S3 was released as we are still getting many people asking about this.

CyanoegnMod 10

It is important to note that this is a nightly build. Nightly builds means it isn’t a finished product, so you can expect a few bugs along the way. if this is not your thing, then you will want to wait for the CyanogenMod 10 stable build for the Samsung Galaxy S3.

As of now, you can get the CyanogenMod 10 nightly to work running Android Jelly Bean which is really great. Jelly Bean is still the latest Android OS before the rumored Key Lime Pie will be coming soon.

Update: The CyanogenMod 10 Stable build has been released out into the wild. This stable build will have all the bugs fixed out of the system. The CyanogenMod 10 Stable build is for the Galaxy S3.
