The Asus Zenfone 5 aims to make the Asus brand as popular in the smartphone market as it is in the laptop market. The company headquartered out of Taipei didn’t quite pull it off, bu they did manage to create a device that is popular enough to make some noise in the smartphone market. Announced in January 6 of 2014, the ASUSTeK smartphone wasn’t released until April, making it still a new device today.

Where the Zenfone series really went wrong was in the way they launched their devices. The Zenfone 5 launched during 2014 and the Zenfone 2 launched during 2015 if you can work that one out. Far too confusing for such a fast-paced market, the Zenfone series will need to sought out its naming if it is to sell more units. It does come in five solid color options, including the Osmium Black, Glacier Gray, Ceramic White, Glamor Red and the Sheer Gold.
