Some of you may not even be aware, but Google always brings out the distribution tables in monthly installments. This gives the public a chance to see which OS the people are using in a nice graph. It was also via this information shown to use that we noticed Jelly Bean was officially the most popular type of firmware currently running on Android devices today.

On the other end of the spectrum, it seems Google have now decided to drop Donut and Eclair from the table all together after officially claiming only 1.3% of the devices today according to the latest statistics. Yes, that means we will have to say goodbye to them from the Android distribution graphs forever most likely. However, we are sure those forms of ROM will start in the hearts of many for years to come.

The reason for the removal wasn’t because of their lack of popularity, though, according to an Android spokesman. Apparently the reason was more to do with the fact that those types of OS simply weren’t compatible with the latest Google Play store edition which was brought out. Hence why they no longer appear.
