Amazon is known as a website that we go back to time and time again and find some great deals. Here is another great deal if you are in the hunt for the current Galaxy S5 from either Verizon or Sprint. If you agree to sign with either phone carrier you can have the Sammy flagship for $99 if people sign up for a 2-year contract. The deal is for the 16 GB variant and is available for the black and white color options. It gives consumers a saving of around $100. or, if people don’t want a contract they can buy it outright without being subsidized at all for just under $700.
When I say this is a good deal I am referring to going by Samsung’s current prices and not what I would necessarily say is a good deal. We know now that a Prime S5 is just around the corner and after the LG G3 is released on the 27th of May we expect the rumors to start gaining some steam and becoming much more apparent. You see, the current S5 will fall behind what Sony has created spec-wise and it is widely expected that they fight back and released a premium version of the S5 very soon to meet the demand of the new Quad HD benchmark in screen technology. Other upgrades include a Snapdragon 805 processor.
After being announced on the 24th of February and released on the 27th of March, this smartphone has now been around for a few months. It comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974-AC and a Quad core, 2500 MHz, Krait 400 processor. The physical display is 5.1 inches and the technology behind it all is Super AMOLED. In terms of picture quality, it is powered by a 1080 x 1920 pixels screen resolution and pixel density of 432 ppi. All that doesn’t sound too bad until you check out what the G3 is about to do tomorrow. Then you will understand why Sammy will be bringing out a “prime” model to jump ahead of what we have here.
Anyhow, some people just want a new smartphone and couldn’t care less about that stuff. For those who just want to know what the S5 has right now, I can tell you that it is running Android 4.4.2 KitKat with a TouchWiz UI. It is water and dust resistant and is available from lots of phone carriers. The list includes Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile, AT&T, T-Mobile, MetroPCS, US Cellular, Virgin Mobile plus the other two we are mentioning here in this Amazon deal.
