Unless you root your Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 smartphone, you cannot enjoy what it truly has to offer you. From overclocking the CPU for a boost in performance to flashing a custom ROM, all that can only be done when you’re rooted.

Rooting the aforementioned device is not a big deal. All you need to do is grab the required files from the following section, and then follow the steps to gain root on your device. It shouldn’t take too long to root your device.

Here’s how:

Files You Need

1. This requires you to have a computer that runs Windows. Sorry Mac and Linux users!

2. You must have Samsung USB drivers installed on your computer.

3. Download Odin to your computer. It’ll be used to flash root files on your device.

4. Download Root Package to your computer. It’s the whole package to root your device.

5. This only works for the SM-G357FZ device.

Rooting the Samsung Galaxy Ace 4

1. Extract files from both Odin and Root Package to your computer by right-clicking on each of them and selecting Extract here.

2. Double-click on Odin executable to launch it on your computer.

3. When the Odin launches, click on PDA and choose step1 file that you extracted from the archive.

4. Uncheck Repartition if it’s already checked in the Odin.

5. Checkmark both Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options in the Odin.

6. Turn off your phone.

7. Turn your phone back on in download mode. To do so, hold down Volume DOWN, Home, and Power buttons together.

8. Press Volume UP to confirm the prompt and to enter the download mode on your device.

9. Connect your phone to your computer using a USB cable.

10. Click on Start in the Odin and wait for it to flash step1 file on your device.

11. When it’s done flashing the file, your phone should automatically reboot.

You will get errors when you reboot your device. To fix that and to properly root your device, flash the step2 file available in the root package using the same procedure as above and you will be rooted without any errors.

You are done. Your Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 should now be rooted.
